A Publishing Journey, #34-36: 3 Poems Inspired by Leonard Cohen Songs

On October 1st, Fevers of the Mind published three poems of mine for their “Before I Turn into Gold Day,” named after Cohen’s song “A Bunch of Lonesome Heroes.”

Anyone familiar with Fevers of the Mind and FotM editor David L. O’Nan will know they are huge Cohen fans over there, and anyone who knows me will know that I am too. The three poems of mine that FotM published today are “Disciple Dash,” “Jellyfish,” and “Salt.” “Disciple Dash” and “Jellyfish” are both new poems inspired by Cohen’s song “So Long, Marianne,” and “Salt” is a poem—inspired by Cohen’s album The Future—that FotM and O’Nan have previously published on Fevers of the Mind. I am always happy to publish with Fevers, because they are doing some excellent work in building up the writing community.

You can read these poems here on Fevers of the Mind.

For clarification’s sake, when I say “A Publishing Journey, #34-36,” I mean that these are my 34th through 36th publishing credits.
