Songs for Christmas, #13, A Bonus Poem: “We Fellowship”

After Frances Flora Bond Palmer, American Winter Scenes: Morning, 1854, via the National Gallery of Art, open access

A thought that helps me overcome the post-Christmas blues, in a poem originally written for my friend Lynette upon her high school graduation.

“We Fellowship”

We still stand together,
all gathered for a while,
yet the Hourglass of Time
will always separate.

Eventually we’ll part,
we fellowship of friends.
Our paths lie different ways.
Who knows where they begin?

May we hold in heart
our fellowship unbroken,
in our minds all keeping
memories for token.

God gave us each a way,
a road to travel down.
Remember the glad times
we walked this road together.
