An Explanation of This Site’s A Hillbilly Poetry Collection

Originally written in 2012 for a college Creative Writing class, and written during a time I was unsure of my future — where to live, my career, my education, my relationships.

Raindrops
falling down on
a rooftop nestled
in the hills. That is the place I
call home.

Is this
where God wants me
to stay and do my part?
I ask, and the answer is this:
It is.

Who knew
life held so much
trouble, sorrow, despair?
One knew and conquered all of that:
The Christ.
